Up, Up & Away

Space may be the next frontier.  But back on Earth, start-ups often find it hard to reach warp speed, even if they’re powered by stellar engineering credentials.

When Ecliptic Enterprises – then a relatively-new consulting firm – contacted Foggia Public Relations, their mission of working with NASA and JPL contractors was just starting to take off.   Plus, their patented revolutionary RocketCam digital camera system – often attached to Boeing and Lockheed rockets as a way of monitoring lift-offs – had a universe of marketing possibilities yet to be explored.

Working closely with Ecliptic’s CEO, Foggia crafted a comprehensive media kit to properly position what they do, how they do it, and the credentials of the prominent engineers behind the company.  Over the following year, she also produced and distributed a series of key press releases to aerospace editors (both industry and mainstream) spotlighting each launch in which a RocketCam was aboard.

The power of plain language.

Somewhere in the last two decades, technology got lost in a jungle of jargon that often leaves even industry insiders scratching their heads.  So imagine how annoying and frustrating it is for technology editors when they’re forced to wade through press releases that only an engineer can decipher.  Unlike firms that specialize solely in technology, Foggia Public Relations is able to position companies for a mainstream audience because of our broad background in working with media across the spectrum.

When Enfish founder and Chairman Louise Wannier needed a strategic makeover of how her innovative integrated search and retrieve software was being perceived, Foggia conducted extensive interviews with Wannier and her staff to produce a consumer-friendly media kit.

Humetrix was about to release its breakthrough Netissimo Internet Smart Card Solution, which stored and automatically uploaded secure user IDs and passwords, on selected Compaq Presario computers. With the debut scheduled for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Foggia Public Relations created the company’s first media kit and pitched the product release campaign.

Computers and Structures, Inc. – the leader in the development of software tools used by engineers throughout the world to design buildings and other structures – had commissioned a major new ballet to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the San Francisco Earthquake.  Foggia Public Relations was recruited to mount the national campaign that ultimately provided CSI with its first-ever industry and mainstream coverage.

NBOR had spent over a decade developing its revolutionary new software that gives users unprecedented freedom in how they operate a computer.  As a member of its core marketing team, Foggia Public Relations masterminded the launch publicity campaign that kicked off with an Associated Press story that circulated the globe, wrote the user’s guide and website copy, and helped design a user-friendly online shopping cart.
