UNCONVENTIONAL IF NOT downright eccentric concert pairings seem to have been a bit of a theme for Barry Jekowsky and the California Symphony this year. Last falls season opener got the experimental ball rolling with Gustav Holsts “The Planets” played to a simultaneous celestial sideshow narrated by a well-known astronomer using high-def NASA and Adler Planetarium imagery.
